I'm running super late today. Too much to do. With Live Journal being down (actually, it's not down, but I'm one of 1000's who can't access it yesterday and today) I'm feeling like my friends have been cut off from me - isolated and alone! But it's a studio day, I have illustrations due, laundry to wash, and many, many errands to run. I'll be going like the energizer bunny...

Today is a music day for me. Duet practice this afternoon, gonna try to run thru the pieces I need to practice for musical review and classical recital either before or after that. Also volunteered to play for a wedding (long story short: good friend's daughter is putting together a wedding on a very thin shoestring and hadn't figured out how to get music for the service. I just couldn't see her doing without, so I told her I'd play.)
Also need to drive out into the countryside and pick some new-growth creosote buds for another friend currently suffering from poison oak. A lady I know who is a member of the local native tribe taught my dad the Chumash cure for the rash - and it works (or has, for me.) Hard to tell others what to get, however, so I need to go out and do the gathering to make the tea for a compress.
My Muse is driving me to finish another novel lately (yes, LotR, no, not IDD) for some reason. Since I've already written the climax, all I need to do is let her lead me through the denouement. It's a story somewhat similar to "Light Fingers", started a long time before Ivoreth ever popped up in my mind. I have a heavily-edited second draft in the works, as well as trying to finish the thing. Dunno that it will ever hit the LC or archives, however. It just seems a less-polished piece plot/character-wise, altho it does have an interesting plot device that I may have to use elsewhere one of these days.
Don't work too hard, now...

I wouldn't know what a creosote bud looked like if it fell into my hands. It's wonderful that you understand plants. I am so VERY Noldo, ask me the properties of metal alloys and I know it. Ask me what kind of flower I am looking at and I'm clueless. Probably why my little Sinda character is happier staying in the sidelines for the moment. She knows she'll have her time in the sun, but she also knows that I have to continue my research before I can write her with knowledge and conviction.
My only novel this summer will be the start of "Colored Light", my working title for Helyanwe's story. I will have to start posting that on LC soon, I really need the sharp eyes of my friends there to catch my silliness and duplicate words and things that I've missed or did badly.
BTW - I have to thank you, my friend, for being persnickity. I need that. I'm very grateful. Don't forget, I have only been writing since March. I have a LONG way to go before I am anything close to accomplished and polished.

I'm very grateful that I have DW also, but not everyone I have on my F-list belongs to both boards :-(
