I was supposed to switch days off with my Manager this week which would give me today off and I would work for him tomorrow while he has several doctor appointments. But he's sick. I'm feeling more human, although still sick too, so I'll work today for him and tomorrow for him. Thinking that maybe with a lot of luck I'll have Thursday off because I have an art project due Friday and just barely enough time to achieve it. Maybe. If the stars are in alignment. And if I make appropriate sacrifices.

So, Tuesday night we have our appointment with our new accountant for our personal tax return. Our previous accountant we had for 20 years, there was a comfort level there that we really liked. Now it's rather like stepping off a short cliff. It won't be life-threatening, but it is going to be more uncomfortable because we won't automatically be talked through the details. I haven't gathered anything together. Anything. I am planning to work on things tomorrow, and I know it won't be enough time. Bad me. But I'm just not in the mood and when I'm not in the mood to do something I can push things to the background extremely well - shove things under the bed in essence.

This so sucks! I'm sick with the same crap that I've been fighting on and off since January. It seems that every month it comes back and kicks me on my back for a few days, then it goes away again. I can't win! My DH has a scratchy throat now and he's furious about maybe coming down with this again at a time that he just can't afford to be sick. So, I'm back to sleeping on the couch again and managed to seriously pull a muscle in my arm overnight last night so I have one more thing to add to the list. This is RIDICULOUS! There is NO REASON for me to continually be getting this - it's not malaria, but it keeps coming back and forth as if it is. *sigh* call me FRUSTRATED!

We had a lazy Sunday, but that's exactly what I needed. I fell asleep early Saturday night (8 pm - that's virtually unheard of for me) and slept until 9:15 am Sunday morning. Guess I needed it :-) My nose is still running, I am still coughing but I feel tolerably OK. I'm happy I'm not doing any detail work right now though.

I'm fighting to not catch my DH's cold and so far I'm hanging in there. But I overslept this morning, so I guess I'm still a bit groggy. I seem (knocking on wood) to be escaping the worst of it right now. He'll try to go to work today, and I'll try to get a studio day. No guarantee that I won't be called in to work during a portion of the afternoon though.

So, DH is sick. Like coughing every minute or two sick. He doesn't tolerate sickness well, he's all grumpy because he doesn't want to feel this badly. I can't really blame him. But, to try and avoid coming down with his creeping crud, I'm sleeping on the couch in the living room. Not the end of the world - I actually sleep on the couch fairly often, but not as comfy as the bed. I set my alarm, put my earplugs in so that his coughing wouldn't wake me up, and went to sleep. I woke up at 2:45 am and told myself that I had another 45 minutes to sleep, then went back to sleep. The lights turned on (automatically) at 4am and I woke up. Somehow, in my sleep, I had turned off my alarm, or it had finally given up trying to get through my ear plugs. Either way, I overslept 30 minutes. Oy veh! So...now I'm rushed and pics today will be quick and dirty - LOL.

For years I've been posting on my blog six-days-a-week unless I was on a vacation. But Saturday I tried to log in and couldn't. Thus started a weekend of semi-frustration and no access. Finally, this morning, I was able to align the stars properly, make the appropriate sacrifices to the electronic gods of the circuit, and waft the correct scent of insence in the air - voila! I am now connected again and I can communicate with myself and, through my thoughts, others again.

Yesterday was a lost day. I fell under the baleful influence of a head cold and spent much of the day sleeping and shivering. I had a really hard time getting warm. I fully admit that it's cold outside. When I left the house yesterday morning it was -11F (-23.8C) with a wind chill of -33F (-36.1C), but I was properly bundled up, so that wasn't my problem. This head cold has really hit me hard, though.

Yesterday was one of those two steps forward and one step back kind of days. I got most of my errands completed in the morning, then went home and finished my SV piece. That's done and ready to send on now. It's not too bad :-)

So my Manager is still too sick to come to work, although he is slowly getting better. I am hoping that I'll get a day off tomorrow, but I have to work today. Of course, I normally do work on Thursdays, so it's not an unexpected schedule, but I would really like my day off at some time this week. Even if I can take tomorrow off, I'm not 100% sure that he'll be feeling well enough to actually be of any help to my other staff instead of just sitting in the back room reading the newspaper or perching at the computer working on possible purchase orders and order recommendations.

So, today is supposed to be my day off. Unfortunately, my Manager has come down with diverticulitis and asked me to work for him today. I'll get my day off later in the week...but my schedule is all scrammed up today.

Well, yesterday certainly didn't go as planned. Instead of a day off, my Manager phoned me at 8:30 am telling me he was up all night vomiting and was running a fever. So, he got the day off and I worked for him. I'll be working for him again today and will hopefully get my day off on Friday.

So, yesterday I wrote about my DH's computer woes. I brought the CPU to my computer guru and we looked it over, discussed things, and agreed that it was probably the mother board - non-repairable. Our computers are old and long in the tooth, so it's not a surprise.

We had a very nice, low-key anniversary. I picked up sushi on the way home, so we had a nice dinner and a relaxing evening. I still can't sleep lying down, so I'm still stuck sleeping in the recliner, but at least I am getting sleep. Not enough to get over this bronchitis, but sleep.

I have two more pills to go on the antibiotics and then I supposedly should be cured. I'm not, but it's a LOT better. Tomorrow we have Ren Faire again, and hopefully it won't be too cold and windy. We only have three weekends left and as we go along now, it will be more into autumn and colder.

Here's a lovely autumn pic for all of you. It is my favorite season and I love the colors and promises that autumn brings to us.

I'm getting more sleep than usual because of this illness of mine, but the drawback is that my brain feels like mush. I can't process storylines, I can't review with any depth, I can't develop new plots, I'm hopeless at writing right now and that disturbs me.

We had a wonderful time at Ren Fest yesterday. Usually there is banter at the front gate before opening, but since it was the 10th anniversary of September 11th, things were more solem. We sang Irish and Scottish funerary songs instead.

I finally was able to get some sleep last night. I went to bed (the recliner) at 9pm, causing my DH to make a hunt all over the house to find me later because he forgot I said I would use the recliner - duh!

So, my Assistant Manager finally kicked me out of the shop yesterday telling me to go to Urgent Care and get some meds. After waiting for an hour (thank goodness for my Nook)

Sharon and I had a wonderful time for her visit. We spent three days wandering and eating our way through the State Fair, and one day wandering and eating, and watching a variety of stage shows at Ren Faire. I dropped her off at the airport on Tuesday morning and she arrived back home safely later that day.
